Tense Stand-Off Ends in Fatal Shooting of Armed Fugitive in Red Hills

ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A wanted fugitive linked to multiple violent crimes was killed in a police operation early Saturday morning in the quiet Golden Acres community of Red Hills.

According to preliminary police reports, the incident unfolded during a high-risk, intelligence-driven maneuver aimed at intercepting a known suspect involved in a series of recent criminal activities. The man, later identified as 40-year-old Kevin Rouldson of a Kingston 11 residence, reportedly opened fire upon sighting the officers. Lawmen engaged in a swift and tactical response, fatally wounding the assailant in the exchange.

A 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene, and no officers were injured during the operation.

Rouldson had been the subject of a months-long manhunt. Authorities had tied him to an organized network operating across sections of the Corporate Area and had implicated him in a slew of major crimes, including multiple homicides and vehicular robberies in volatile zones such as Waltham Park and Cockburn Pen.

Saturday’s operation marks a significant moment in law enforcement’s ongoing clampdown on gang-related activity. Investigators have since launched further inquiries into the gang with which Rouldson was reportedly affiliated, as they continue efforts to dismantle the wider criminal enterprise.
