Currency Watch: US Dollar Sees Uptick as Pound Dips Slightly

KINGSTON, Jamaica— On Friday, January 10, the US dollar recorded a marginal increase in value, closing at $157.22, according to the Bank of Jamaica’s latest trading report. This marks a 37-cent rise compared to its previous trading day.

Other major currencies saw mixed movements in the local forex market. The Canadian dollar experienced a modest gain, climbing to $110.00 from $109.59. Conversely, the British pound edged down slightly, ending the day at $195.07, a minor decline from $195.20.

Currency fluctuations remain a key focus for businesses and individuals, as these shifts impact trade, travel, and investment decisions.
