KINGSTON, Jamaica — A case involving a local TikTok personality facing charges for online defamation has hit a delay due to missing documents and absent legal representation.
Milton Wray, known on social media as “TikToker 119,” appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday to answer charges of malicious communication stemming from an alleged online smear campaign. However, the hearing was postponed as the prosecution’s file remained incomplete.
Wray stood alone before the court, explaining that his attorney, who had initially agreed to be present, pulled out at the last minute. “He told me he would be available, but then said he couldn’t make it,” Wray told the judge.
Despite being without legal representation, Wray strongly denied the accusations, though he did not formally enter a plea. Parish Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle ordered him to return to court on Friday.
The charges relate to a March 22 outing between Wray and a woman, after which he allegedly made unwanted advances. When the woman refused, prosecutors say Wray threatened to “disgrace” her online. By March 30, he had allegedly followed through, posting her photo with defamatory comments.
The complaint led to an investigation by Spanish Town detectives, culminating in Wray’s arrest and a $400,000 station bail granted with surety.
The court now awaits the completion of the prosecution’s file and confirmation of legal representation before the case can proceed.
