MoBay Night Run 2025: Bigger, Brighter, and Bolder with Carnival Energy

MONTEGO BAY, St James — The highly anticipated MoBay Night Run is set to return on April 5, 2025, with an electrifying twist. Organizers have announced a brand-new partnership with GenX Carnival, promising a fusion of fitness and festivity that will transform the annual event into a high-energy spectacle.

This year’s edition will not only challenge participants to a thrilling 5K run/walk but also immerse them in an unforgettable carnival experience featuring pulsating soca beats, vibrant costumes, and top-tier entertainment.

“We’re raising the bar this year. MoBay Night Run has always been about more than just running—it’s about the energy, the unity, and the excitement,” said Suzette Brown, Executive Director of The Howard Ward Benefit Foundation. “And what better way to take it up a notch than by partnering with one of the biggest names in carnival?”

A Celebration on the Move

With GenX Carnival now on board, the event will feature entertainment zones along the race route, complete with live DJs, themed lighting, and interactive experiences. GenX Co-Director Kino Johnson shared that this collaboration is designed to make every step of the 5K an exhilarating journey.

“We’re bringing carnival to the streets in a whole new way,” Johnson said. “Expect music at every kilometer, entertainment stops, and surprises that will make this more than just a race—it’ll be a full-blown celebration.”

The route will take runners through the scenic Jimmy Cliff Boulevard before looping back to the newly chosen venue, Harmony Beach Park, which will serve as the central hub for the post-race festivities.

Running for a Cause

While the excitement levels are set to soar, the heart of the MoBay Night Run remains its philanthropic mission. Last year’s event raised over $8 million, funding bursaries for 36 students in need. This year, organizers have set an ambitious target—5,000 participants and $15 million in scholarship funds.

“Our goal is to make a real impact in the lives of students across Jamaica,” Brown emphasized. “With more participants, more sponsors, and this new carnival energy, we’re confident we can exceed last year’s success.”

An Unforgettable Experience Awaits

The post-race festivities will be nothing short of spectacular, with GenX pulling out all the stops to deliver a high-energy party atmosphere. In addition to headline entertainment, major brands like Smirnoff, Rum Stripe, KFC, and Fesco have been tapped to enhance the experience with refreshments, giveaways, and interactive booths.

With its bold new vision, the MoBay Night Run 2025 is shaping up to be more than just a race—it’s set to be an iconic fusion of sport, culture, and community. Whether you’re in it for the run or the revelry, one thing is certain: this is an event you won’t want to miss.
