Investigation Launched into Tragic Incident at Kingston Public Hospital

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) has confirmed it is conducting an investigation following a tragic incident involving a 75-year-old patient who reportedly fell from the third floor of the hospital’s building. The incident occurred on Thursday, and the patient was immediately rushed to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department for urgent medical intervention. Despite the efforts to resuscitate him, the patient was pronounced dead.

The hospital expressed condolences to the family and has made counselling services available to them during this challenging time. In a statement released to the public, KPH’s management assured that the matter is being thoroughly investigated, and details of the inquiry will be shared with both the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the South East Regional Health Authority (SEHRA) Board.

Additionally, the hospital confirmed that the police have been informed, and a separate investigation by law enforcement is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
