RITC Payout Delays: What Beneficiaries Need to Know

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Some successful applicants for the Government’s Reverse Income Tax Credit (RITC) program are experiencing delays in receiving the $20,000 one-time payment. This delay, according to the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), is being addressed in collaboration with the Accountant General’s Department (AGD).

TAJ has stated that it is actively working to resolve the issue and is reaching out to impacted individuals to notify them of the delay. The authority expects the matter to be cleared up within the next three business days.

For those seeking further information, they can contact TAJ directly at (888) TAX-BACK or via email at TaxBack@taj.gov.jm.

TAJ also reminded applicants who have yet to submit their RITC applications that the deadline has been extended to Friday, December 13. Applications can be completed on the tax portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

The disbursement process for the RITC generally takes at least four weeks from the date of application confirmation. Beneficiaries will receive an SMS or email notification once their payment has been disbursed to their chosen financial institution or remittance service, or if there is any issue with the provided information.
