Vendor Faces Charges Over Ammunition Found at Airport

A routine security check at Norman Manley International Airport led to the arrest of a 54-year-old vendor from Rocky Point, Clarendon, who now faces charges of unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The Elletson Road Police reported that the incident occurred on Thursday, November 21, around 6:15 pm. Conset Maxine was passing through the Kingston-based airport when her luggage was flagged for inspection.

Upon examination, authorities allegedly uncovered a 9mm Glock magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition. Maxine was immediately taken into custody, and following further investigations, charges were formally laid against her.

Details surrounding how the ammunition ended up in Maxine’s possession remain unclear. Law enforcement is continuing their inquiries, and a court date for the accused has not yet been scheduled.

This incident highlights the importance of thorough security checks at airports as authorities work to ensure public safety.
