Mona High and Excelsior High Secure Spots in ISSA Walker Cup Semi-Finals

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Mona High and Excelsior High have both advanced to the semi-finals of the ISSA Walker Cup after strong performances in the quarterfinals at Stadium East on Wednesday.

Mona High, the soon-to-be-crowned Manning Cup champions, demonstrated their dominance with a solid 3-0 victory over St Jago. The goals came from Savi-K Morton, Kshaine Gordon, and Cameron Sailman, securing Mona’s place in the next round.

Excelsior High, however, faced a much more nerve-wracking challenge. After a goalless draw in regular time, the team showed incredible composure during a penalty shootout, edging Eltham High 7-6 to seal their semi-final spot.

The final two semi-final teams will be determined on Thursday at Stadium East, with Campion College set to face St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) at 2:00 p.m., followed by Tivoli Gardens taking on Wolmer’s Boys’ at 4:15 p.m.
