HOUSTON, United States—In a landmark case, more than 100 individuals plan to file lawsuits against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of sexual assault, exploitation, and rape. Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the victims, made the announcement on Tuesday, vowing to aggressively seek justice.
“We will hold accountable anyone involved, directly or indirectly, in this reprehensible behavior,” Buzbee said. “No one will be shielded from scrutiny as we seek justice for the survivors.”
These civil lawsuits come on the heels of Combs facing three criminal charges last month, which accuse him of orchestrating and participating in drug-fueled sex parties where women were allegedly abused and coerced into non-consensual acts.
The legal challenges against the music mogul first surfaced last year when Cassie, the singer and former girlfriend of Combs, publicly accused him of subjecting her to years of abuse, including physical coercion, drug-related manipulation, and a 2018 rape incident.
Since Cassie’s claims, numerous others have come forward, painting a picture of Combs as a predator who used his fame to exploit vulnerable women. Despite these allegations, Combs has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty. He remains in custody as he awaits trial.
