Chronixx’s Eternal Light Certified Gold by RIAA

Reggae sensation Chronixx has reached a significant milestone with his collaboration “Eternal Light,” recorded alongside the American R&B group Free Nationals in 2019. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) officially certified the track gold on Wednesday, recognizing its impressive achievement of 500,000 equivalent units sold in the U.S., encompassing both digital sales and streaming.

This certification marks Chronixx’s first official recognition in the United States. Previously, his collaboration with Protoje on the song “Who Knows” received silver certification in the UK, surpassing 200,000 units sold two years ago.

“Eternal Light” is featured on the Free Nationals’ self-titled debut album, released in 2019, which went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album.

Born Jamar McNaughton in Spanish Town, Chronixx developed a passion for music during his late teens while attending St. Catherine High School. To date, he has released one full-length studio album, Chronology, which garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album in 2017 and topped Billboard’s Reggae Album chart. His earlier EP, Dread & Terrible, also reached the top of the same chart.

Chronixx is celebrated for his hit songs, including “Smile Jamaica,” “Odd Ras,” “Behind Curtain,” “I Can,” “Here Comes Trouble,” and “Alpha and Omega,” showcasing his influential presence in the reggae genre. With the gold certification of “Eternal Light,” Chronixx continues to solidify his status as a leading artist in contemporary reggae music.
