An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing a man during an altercation in the Knockpatrick community of Manchester. The accused, identified as Sanjay Williams, a labourer from Hillside Close, now faces a charge of wounding with intent.
According to reports from the police, the incident occurred on Friday, June 28, around 2:00 am. The victim, who was at a party on Green Street with a relative, was approached by Williams. After a brief verbal exchange, Williams is alleged to have used a knife to stab the man in his side before fleeing the scene.
Williams remained at large for several months but was apprehended on Tuesday, September 10, during a police operation in Manchester. He was formally charged two days later after an interview in the presence of his attorney.
The police continue to investigate the matter, and Williams is expected to appear before the courts soon.
