Early Morning Collision in Mandeville Leaves One Hospitalized

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Emergency crews were dispatched early Sunday morning after a serious two-vehicle collision on New Green Road, disrupting the usual quiet in the Mandeville area.

The crash, which occurred shortly after 7:30 am, involved two Toyota Wish vehicles—one of which was confirmed to be operating as a taxi at the time of the incident. Responders from the Mandeville Fire Station confirmed that upon arrival, they discovered one of the occupants trapped inside the wreckage and had to conduct a delicate extrication.

“The individual was securely removed from the vehicle by our team using specialized rescue tools,” shared a senior member of the Jamaica Fire Brigade who responded to the scene.

The injured party was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Their condition has not been disclosed.

Traffic along New Green Road was briefly disrupted as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution, particularly during early morning commutes when visibility and alertness may be compromised.

Investigations are ongoing.
