ST JAMES, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) leader Mark Golding has made a direct call for Jamaicans across the political divide to unite under the banner of change as the nation prepares for the September 3 general election.
Addressing a massive crowd in Sam Sharpe Square, Golding urged undecided citizens and even Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters to consider the PNP’s vision for the country.
“On Wednesday, let us vote for dignity, progress, and a Jamaica we can all be proud of. This election is not just about parties — it is about reclaiming our country’s character and building a future worthy of our people,” Golding told thousands of cheering supporters.
The rally marked the grand finale of the PNP’s two-year campaign push. Golding expressed gratitude to party members, volunteers, and supporters who he said carried the movement across the island.
“This has been a long journey, and together we have marched with purpose. On Wednesday, we march into victory. Tonight’s turnout shows that Jamaicans are ready — ready for fairness, ready for integrity, ready for a government that works for the people,” he declared.
Golding pledged that under a PNP administration, governance would be rooted in accountability and transparency. He emphasized that national resources must serve the wider public interest, not private or partisan gain.
“The government I will lead will belong to the people of Jamaica,” Golding assured. “We will listen, we will answer, and we will ensure every decision reflects the wellbeing of the people first.”
The PNP leader closed his address with a charge to the nation, framing the election as an opportunity for Jamaicans to choose a path of renewal and progress.
