Countdown to the Crown: Miss Universe Jamaica Finalists Enter the Home Stretch

KINGSTON, Jamaica — One month after stepping into the public spotlight, the 30 contenders for the 2025 Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica title have traded evening gowns for gym gear and notebooks, immersing themselves in a demanding contestant academy that leaves little room for downtime.

Every week, the delegates convene for a slate of workshops that goes far beyond the customary catwalk drills. At Fit Farm they’ve sharpened self-defence techniques and fine-tuned fitness regimes; in the studio they’ve refined their diction, honed interview savvy, and rehearsed rapid-fire Q&As.

“We wanted a programme that moulds a confident, multidimensional representative for the international stage,” explained national director Mark McDermoth. “This year we embedded storytelling sessions with cultural icon Dr Amina Blackwood-Meeks, movement labs led by Marlon Simms of the NDTC, and theatre coaching from the incomparable Fae Ellington. The result is a more expressive, dynamic competitor ready for Miss Universe in November.”

The rigorous schedule also includes runway polishing with stylist Karl Williams and voice training from speech coach Adrian Atkinson. According to McDermoth, feedback has been “exceptional,” with contestants demonstrating sharper stage presence and stronger personal narratives after each session.

Luxury Meets Pageantry: Euphoria Weekend

Before the grand coronation on 9 August at the AC Hotel, Kingston, the finalists will converge at Princess Jamaica in Green Island for Euphoria Weekend (26–29 June), a four-day fusion of fashion, wellness, and top-tier entertainment presented by the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation and Princess Hotels & Resorts.

The getaway doubles as a preliminary judging arena—swimsuit and evening-gown parades will unfold poolside, critiqued by an official panel while guests cheer on their favourites. Reigning queen Rachel Silvera will host, and a powerhouse DJ roster—DJ Kiss, Spinderella, D-Nice, DJ M.O.S.—will keep energy levels high long after runway lights dim.

Fans eager to witness the action live can reserve rooms via Princess-hotels.com and unlock perks using promo code MUJ2025.

With the crown ceremony drawing closer, contestants are embracing every drill, rehearsal, and runway turn—determined that when the spotlight hits Kingston’s AC Hotel in August, they’ll be ready to own the stage.
