KINGSTON, Jamaica – With the top spot in Group E up for grabs, Jamaica’s national football team has unveiled a recalibrated starting eleven ahead of their high-stakes World Cup qualifier against Guatemala on Tuesday night at the National Stadium.
Coach Heimir Hallgrímsson has introduced four notable changes to the lineup, a tactical adjustment following a subdued 1-0 showing against the British Virgin Islands last Saturday. Leon Bailey and Isaac Hayden headline the incoming selections, with Joel Latibeaudiere and Amari’i Bell also earning starts. The shift sees Dexter Lembikisa, Richard King, Kaheim Dixon, and Greg Leigh rotated to the bench.
Both Jamaica and Guatemala enter the tie locked on nine points, having swept their opening three matches. However, it’s goal difference that currently separates the two in the standings, making Tuesday’s encounter pivotal in deciding zone supremacy.
This fixture is not only a battle for Group E dominance but also a preview of a looming rematch—these two sides are set to face each other again on Monday, June 16, in the Concacaf Group stage opener of the next qualifying round.
Jamaica’s Starting XI:
Andre Blake (GK), Joel Latibeaudiere, Damion Lowe, Amari’i Bell, Mason Holgate, Jon Russell, Isaac Hayden, Leon Bailey, Demarai Gray, Warner Brown, Renaldo Cephas.
With momentum, home advantage, and national pride at stake, all eyes will be on Kingston as the Reggae Boyz look to assert their dominance on the road to 2026.
