Missing Man Among Two Killed in Hanover Police Operation

HANOVER, Jamaica — A police operation in the Cauldwell area of Kingsvale, Hanover, late Thursday night ended in a deadly exchange that left two men dead, including a man previously reported missing in Westmoreland.

The deceased have been linked to a reported confrontation with law enforcement officers around 11:55 p.m. on May 8. Among the dead is 27-year-old Christopher Williams of Strathbogie district in Savanna-la-Mar, who had been declared missing a day prior.

According to official police reports, two firearms were recovered from the scene—a Browning pistol loaded with two 9mm rounds and a Smith & Wesson loaded with seven .45-calibre rounds.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal encounter are now under investigation. The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB), along with the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), have been notified and are probing the incident.
