CAYMANAS PARK – In a dazzling display of speed and precision, Digital One made a triumphant return to the track, delivering an emphatic victory in the $1.75-million Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) Eighth Anniversary Trophy on Saturday.
Trained by Gary Subratie and expertly guided by Dane Dawkins, the four-year-old filly defied expectations in the Graded Stakes/Open Allowance event, leaving her rivals trailing as she stormed home over five and a half furlongs (1,100m). Digital One, unfazed by the breakneck pace set by early leaders California Crown and Bootylicious, timed her run to perfection, surging to a commanding five-and-a-half-length victory.
Clocking 1:06.0 (22.4 x 47.1 x 59.3) minutes, the bay filly showcased tactical brilliance. Positioned smartly in third as the field navigated the half-mile turn (800m), Dawkins bided his time while the dueling frontrunners battled for supremacy. Seizing the moment as California Crown and Bootylicious drifted wide, Digital One capitalized on the inside rail, accelerating with unwavering focus to claim the win in effortless fashion.
While Digital One stole the headlines, Trainer Anthony Nunes enjoyed a successful outing, saddling an impressive three winners on the nine-race card. Brahma Bull (Tevin Foster) secured a win in the fourth race, while Golden Syrup (Shane Richardson) and Smart Trick (Shane Ellis) delivered victories in the sixth and ninth races, respectively.
The electrifying performance by Digital One marks a stellar start to her season, leaving racing fans eager to see what’s next for Subratie’s standout filly.
