Hollywood sensation Zendaya is set to lend her voice to the upcoming Shrek 5, joining the beloved animated franchise in a highly anticipated sequel.
DreamWorks Animation confirmed the casting in a surprise teaser posted across social media on Thursday. The clip features Eddie Murphy’s iconic Donkey asking the Magic Mirror, “Who’s the fairest of them all?” The Mirror responds with a cheeky, “Why, Shrek, of course!” before flashing through various versions of the green ogre. The clip ends with an exasperated “Ew, dad!” from Felicia—Shrek and Fiona’s daughter—whom Zendaya will portray.
This marks the first time the Euphoria and Dune star has stepped into the world of Shrek, joining franchise veterans Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to continue the comedic and heartfelt storytelling that has made the series a cultural phenomenon.
Produced by Universal and DreamWorks Animation, Shrek 5 is slated for release in December 2026.
