Former MP Harry Douglas Remembered for Decades of Service to St Mary

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The nation mourns the passing of Harry Douglas, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for St Mary South Eastern and a stalwart of the People’s National Party (PNP). Douglas, aged 83, passed away on Saturday at St Joseph’s Hospital after battling a prolonged illness.

Douglas represented St Mary South Eastern with distinction, serving as MP from 1989 until his retirement in 2007. Known for his unwavering commitment to his constituents, he also held the position of minister of state in the Ministry of Water and Housing, where he championed initiatives to improve access to essential services.
