WHITHORN, Westmoreland — Authorities have apprehended two teenagers following a brazen armed robbery on the Heavy Sand main road last Friday, October 4. The young suspects are accused of stealing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and cash totaling approximately $200,000 from a local man.
The police have charged the unnamed individuals with aggravated robbery in connection with the crime. According to reports, the incident unfolded around 7:00 PM when the victim was walking along the road. It is alleged that the teenagers, both known to the victim, confronted him—one brandishing a knife while the other wielded a machete.
Witnesses indicated that the teens demanded the victim’s phone and money before fleeing the scene on foot. Following the incident, the victim promptly reported the robbery to the police, who responded swiftly.
Law enforcement officers subsequently took the victim to the residences of the suspects, where they were positively identified. The two teenagers were arrested and have since been charged, with their court appearance date still pending.
