Juici Patties Expands into New York: A Taste of Jamaica on the Rise

Local culinary sensation Juici Patties is set to make a significant mark in New York, having already secured eight franchise agreements to establish stores across the bustling city. Following a successful launch in Florida earlier this year, the company’s director and CEO for U.S. operations, Daniel Chin, expressed his enthusiasm for replicating that success within the vibrant Jamaican and Caribbean community in New York.

“New York mirrors many aspects of Florida in terms of its strong Jamaican diaspora, but it also presents its unique challenges and opportunities,” Chin remarked. “We are committed to a launch that resonates with the local community while leveraging the insights we’ve gained from our experience in Florida.”

The expansion into New York is part of Juici Patties’ broader strategy to establish a presence in all 50 states. The company has been rapidly growing since its debut overseas in Hollywood, Florida, where it shattered sales records by selling nearly 5,000 patties on its first day. Following this momentum, the company is eyeing Atlanta as its next potential market.

The eight upcoming locations in New York are strategically positioned in densely populated areas, including the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, with the first store currently under construction on the bustling White Plains Road, an area known for its strong Jamaican presence.

Premier Private Equity, a Barbados-based firm comprising Jamaican entrepreneurs, is backing this ambitious venture. K’sha White, the portfolio manager at Premier, highlighted the investment of over $700,000 earmarked for the project, emphasizing their belief in Juici Patties’ potential. “While we’re starting with one store, we are actively exploring additional opportunities,” White noted. “This partnership marks a significant step in our journey to bring Juici’s delicious offerings to New York City’s diaspora community.”

Having previously collaborated on acquiring KFC and Dairy Queen franchises in Panama, Premier Private Equity is no stranger to the quick-service restaurant sector. White described this partnership as more than just a business venture, framing it as a cultural exchange that will introduce authentic Jamaican flavors to a broader audience.

“This expansion is about sharing our culture and heritage,” White remarked. “With Juici Patties, we are not just selling food; we are bringing a piece of Jamaica to New York.”

Chin echoed this sentiment, stating, “Partnering with Premier enables us to fulfill our mission of spreading genuine Jamaican cuisine throughout the United States. The Bronx is an ideal location for us to continue this journey, and we look forward to engaging with the community and making Juici Patties a household name in New York.”
