In a shocking turn of events, a shooting in Cheshire Village, a housing scheme primarily designed for individuals with disabilities, has left the community reeling. The incident occurred early Saturday morning on Golding Avenue in Tavern, claiming the life of a young man identified as 23-year-old Micheal Sutherland, also known as ‘Dim Dim,’ from Bedward Gardens in August Town.
According to reports, the quiet morning was shattered around 7:45 am when residents were awakened by a series of loud gunshots. Alarmed, they quickly contacted law enforcement authorities.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Sutherland lying face down in a pool of blood, exhibiting what appeared to be fatal gunshot wounds to the head. He was reportedly wearing pink and white shorts, black and red American Eagle underwear, and distinctive black, white, and orange Nike sneakers.
Following the grim discovery, officers transported Sutherland’s body to the Kingston Public Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.
