Curfew Extended in Kingston Western Division Amid Security Measures

KINGSTON, Jamaica — In response to ongoing security concerns, authorities have prolonged the curfew established in parts of the Kingston Western Police Division. Originally set to expire soon, the curfew will now be enforced for an additional 48 hours, remaining in effect until 6:00 PM on Friday, September 27.

Residents within the affected area must remain indoors during curfew hours, except for those granted permission by the ground commander.

The curfew’s designated boundaries are defined as follows:

  • North: Greenwich Park Road from the western edge of the Calvary Cemetery to Lyndhurst Road, continuing to Studio One Boulevard.
  • East: Slipe Pen Road from Studio One Boulevard to Asquith Street.
  • South: Asquith Street from Slipe Pen Road to Thompson Street.
  • West: Thompson Street from Asquith Street, extending along an imaginary line back to Greenwich Park Road near the Calvary Cemetery.

Residents are urged to adhere to these guidelines to support efforts aimed at ensuring community safety. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
