11-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Clarendon

CLARENDON, Jamaica — In a heart-wrenching tragedy, an 11-year-old girl from Clarendon lost her life on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road near her home.

The victim, identified as Marla Richards, was a student and resident of Kemps Hill, Clarendon. The incident took place at approximately 4:00 PM, as Marla was returning home from school. She was struck by a blue Toyota Hiace bus traveling south on the Kemps Hill main road.

Marla was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, medical efforts were in vain, and she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Authorities in Clarendon have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The community is left grappling with the devastating loss, and support is being extended to the grieving family.
